SAVE THE DATE – OCTOBER 22ND – OUR FIRST ANNUAL “FURNISH A FAMILY” BENEFIT
On Friday, October 22, 2010, Furniture Sharehouse will hold its first Furnish a Family Benefit at the historic Larchmont Yacht Club in Larchmont, NY. Renowned interior designer Samuel Botero and rare carpet consultant Alix Perrachon will share their passion for design and insider tips on “Making a House a Home”. We will also be honoring The Junior League of Westchester on the Sound for their many years of unwavering support.
An exciting feature of the evening will be a live/silent auction led by Helen Kippax of The Antiques Brokerage House, Ltd, of special furniture items, as well as unique “one-of-a-kind” pieces “reinvented” by well-known Westchester interior designers and artists.
In just over three years of operation, Furniture Sharehouse has distributed over 12,000 items of free furniture to over 2,700 individuals who were moving out of homeless shelters, escaping domestic violence, or recovering from personal or natural disasters. In the last year, the number of families seeking assistance increased by 40% and we currently have a waiting list of 40-50 families who don’t have a bed to sleep on, a table to eat at, or a sofa to sit with family at the end of the day. We need your help to make this event a success so we can raise much-needed funds to enable us to continue to help Westchester’s neediest families create a stable and comfortable home to help them rebuild their lives.
