Furniture drives are an important source of inventory for Furniture Sharehouse, enabling us to restock the warehouse without incurring expensive pick-up costs. And holding a Furniture Drive in a community raises awareness of the organization and that there's a way to give that furniture to someone who really needs it.
Furniture drives can be sponsored by houses of worship, high school service clubs or other groups. Furniture Sharehouse will provide you will all the information you need to make a drive a success.
If your house of worship or service club is interested in sponsoring Furniture Drive, contact us at

How to Volunteer
Are you looking for a gratifying personal volunteer experience? Furniture Sharehouse is an all-volunteer operation that needs your help!
How about becoming a “shopping assistant” at our warehouse, helping clients and their case managers “shop” for the furniture they need from their wish lists? We need client assistants every Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 at our warehouse at the Westchester County Airport. New volunteers will be given an orientation before working with clients.
Additional volunteer opportunities include helping in the warehouse with organizing and cleaning the furniture, picking up furniture donations in your neighborhood, assisting with office/clerical work, serving on the Board of Directors, soliciting furniture/accessory donations from vendors in your community, helping with fund-raising events and more.
If you would like to become a “shopping assistant” or to volunteer in any way, please e-mail us at

Our volunteers come from many groups – houses of worship, community civic organizations, school service clubs, corporate volunteer corps – won’t you join us in helping needy families make a house a home?
