Furniture Sharehose accepts gently used and new home furniture and furnishings. Furniture in need of repair or upholstery is NOT accepted. Please see our donation guidelines for more information.

 
What kind of furniture is available? PDF Print E-mail

Furniture Sharehouse provides gently used furniture and household items, such as beds, tables, lamps, and sofas. Furniture Sharehouse also has items for babies, such as cribs, strollers, and high chairs.

NOTE: Due to extremely high demand and unpredictable inventory, we cannot guarantee that items will be available at the time of your visit.

 
How can I get furniture and/or household items? PDF Print E-mail

Furniture Sharehouse is not open to the public. Only clients who have been referred to us by a Member Agency are eligible to come to the warehouse to select furniture. Please see the list of Member Agencies  to find one that may be able to assist you.

 
Can I come to the Furniture Sharehouse more than once? PDF Print E-mail

No. In order for us to serve as many people as possible, clients may visit only one time.

 
How are clients referred to Furniture Sharehouse? PDF Print E-mail

Furniture Sharehouse partners with more than 30 agencies in Westchester County. These agencies screen clients, complete the necessary paperwork and refer them to us. A client must be accompanied by an agency case manager to be served by Furniture Sharehouse.

 
Do Member Agencies pay any fees to be part of Furniture Sharehouse? PDF Print E-mail

Member Agencies pay an annual fee of $100 and a $25/per client referral fee. For more information see our Member Agency information.

 
What must happen before a client is served? PDF Print E-mail

Before bringing a client to the Furniture Sharehouse, a case manager must:

1. Read the Client Referral Guidelines carefully to be sure both the case manager and the client understand what do expect.
2. Make a home visit to verify the need for furniture and that the home is occupied.
3. Complete the Client Referral Form.
4. Schedule an appointment.
5. Make certain that delivery arrangements are made prior to the appointment.
6. Bring the completed Referral Form and the $25 referral fee (cash, agency check or money order) to the appointment.
