Since opening in April 2007 just after the disastrous flooding, Furniture Sharehouse has provided over 260 households -- families moving out of homeless shelters, fleeing domestic violence or recovering from floods, fires or other personal disasters -- with over 2,000 items of free furniture they could not otherwise have afforded -- beds, sofas, tables & chairs, dressers and other small accessories -- to help make their homes more liveable.

But we never have enough beds -- our supply of donated gently-used mattresses is not nearly sufficient to fill the requests for 4-5 beds per week that we receive from clients who literally have no bed to sleep on...and that means there are mothers and children sleeping on the floor.

Now you can help. By making a donation to Furniture Sharehouse's "Mattresses for Moms", you can help us provide new mattresses to needy Westchester families. And thanks to a generous $5,000 matching funds Challenge Grant from The Westchester Community Foundation,
